At The American Academy – Indiana, middle school students get the independence they crave with the support they still need. Our program recognizes that these transitional years require both academic challenge and guidance with life challenges, all while honoring your family’s unique needs and schedule.
Curriculum and Courses
Our middle school curriculum is aligned to Indiana standards and designed to prepare students for high school success while engaging their developing interests and capabilities. Core subjects include Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, Wellness, and Arts.
Students work with greater independence while receiving targeted support from teachers. Learning includes projects, assignments, and real-world applications that prepare them for high school-level work.
Day in the Life
Middle schoolers thrive with flexible schedules that respect their changing sleep patterns, growing independence, and busy family lives. The middle school program has a set homeroom schedule Monday through Thursday. Outside of homeroom, students can learn anytime and anywhere while receiving synchronous support from teachers and their support team.
Sample School Schedule
- 8:30–9 a.m. — Homeroom, synchronous session
- 9–9:30 a.m. — Math class, synchronous session
- 9:30–10:15 a.m. — Math small group, synchronous session
- 10:15–11 a.m. — English small group, synchronous session
- 11–11:45 a.m. — Project work with Learning Coach, asynchronous
Support Services
Our middle school students benefit from wraparound support! Teachers and Learning Coaches are available for one-on-one meetings, and homework help is available any time of day or night with 24/7 virtual tutoring.

Annual performance evaluation plans; posting of plan
Sec. 4. (a) Each school corporation shall develop or adopt a plan for annual performance evaluations for each certificated employee. A plan must include performance evaluations for all certificated employees, conducted at least annually.
Graduation Alliance maintains an annual performance evaluation plan for all certificated employees to ensure instructional quality. Our state-certified teachers, who facilitate asynchronous courses, are evaluated at least annually based on data-driven metrics and student outcomes. These evaluations also focus on observations related to Student Engagement, Collaboration, and Professional Accountability.
