At The American Academy – Indiana, our kindergarten and elementary program is designed around how young students actually learn. Instead of asking children to adapt to a one-size-fits-all curriculum, we offer a flexible, relationship-driven learning experience that grows with your child. Instruction is personalized, developmentally appropriate, and supported by a connected team of teachers, learning coaches, and advocates who work together to build strong academic foundations while nurturing confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
Day in the Life
Teachers present concepts and lead group activities. Students and their Home Partner work through dynamic, engaging curriculum using online content and tools, manipulatives, and games. Learning Coaches work with your child in small groups and individual sessions to ensure your child has a solid foundation to build on.
We use real-time insights into your child’s progress to guide daily instruction. Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, Wellness, and Art are taught with rigor and structure, but they are always delivered through human connection and relational practice.
In a digital world, we prioritize the human touch. Your child is known, supported, and challenged with purpose every step of the way.
Sample School Schedule
- 9 a.m. — English Language Arts class, synchronous session
- 9:30 a.m. — English Language Arts independent practice
- 10 a.m. — Math class, synchronous session
- 10:30 a.m. — Math independent practice
- 11 a.m. — Special Topic class (e.g., Science, Social Studies, Wellness, or Art), synchronous session
- 11:30 a.m. — Small group instruction, synchronous session
- 12 p.m. — Special Topic independent practice
- Time and place that works best for you — Math and Reading practice time
- Regularly scheduled time — Math and Reading individual support

As a parent or caregiver, your role is not to replace instruction but to bring a valuable perspective to your child’s experience. We invite you to be curious about what your child is learning—celebrating progress, curiosity, and growth along the way. Your observations, insights, and encouragement help us better understand and support your child, and your voice is an important part of our learning team.
Our learning model blends educator-led instruction with experiences from home and the wider world your child lives in. This inclusive approach recognizes that learning continues beyond scheduled lessons through reflection, conversation, and real-life application.
Technology helps connect students, families, and educators by making learning visible and easy to share. What you notice and communicate about your child’s learning at home adds meaningful context and depth to the instructional work taking place. Together, we create a complete and supportive learning environment for your child.
Support Services
Our kindergarten and elementary school students benefit from wraparound support! Teachers and Learning Coaches meet with students during scheduled times throughout the week and are available for one-on-one meetings. Students learn with the support of a Home Partner, which may include a parent/guardian, grandparent, or other caregiver. Home Partners are supported by a Family Advocate who provides resources and guidance to help them help their student thrive.

Annual performance evaluation plans; posting of plan
Sec. 4. (a) Each school corporation shall develop or adopt a plan for annual performance evaluations for each certificated employee. A plan must include performance evaluations for all certificated employees, conducted at least annually.
Graduation Alliance maintains an annual performance evaluation plan for all certificated employees to ensure instructional quality. Our state-certified teachers, who facilitate asynchronous courses, are evaluated at least annually based on data-driven metrics and student outcomes. These evaluations also focus on observations related to Student Engagement, Collaboration, and Professional Accountability.
